International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma)
If you hold an International Baccalaureate diploma (issued by the organisation in Geneva), the admissions process is very straightforward for you. The exact same rules apply to you as to those with the Polish ‘new matura’.
To ensure the system can rank applicants fairly, your IB Diploma grades are automatically converted into Polish Matura percentages. See how this works in practice:

What should you do if you already have your results but are waiting for your diploma to be issued? We know that official diplomas are sometimes delayed. If you do not yet have it at the admission stage, simply upload or submit an official certificate of your secondary school-leaving exam results issued by your school or the IB organisation. Please note, however, that you must send us the physical diploma itself as soon as you receive it!
European Baccalaureate (EB Diploma)
If you are eligible to study on the basis of a European Baccalaureate diploma (issued by European Schools), your admissions process follows the same rules as for the Polish ‘new matura’.
All the results on your EB diploma will be automatically treated by our system as results from the Polish advanced level. They will be converted into percentages according to the following scale:

What should you do if you already have your results but are waiting for your diploma to be issued? As with other international systems, EB certificates may take some time to reach you. If you do not yet have it during the admission process, simply provide an official certificate of your secondary school-leaving exam results issued by your school (or the relevant authorities). Remember to send us the EB diploma itself as soon as you receive it!
Certificate or diploma from abroad
If your secondary school (or university) was located outside Poland, you can apply without any problems!
Main requirement: Your certificate or diploma must entitle you to undertake higher education in the country where the document was issued.
Grading systems around the world vary greatly (from letters, through percentages, to point scales). To ensure that the admission process at the University of Silesia is fair, we will convert your foreign grades to the Polish scale.

Don’t worry! If you cannot find your grading system below, your situation will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The Faculty Admission Committee will decide how best to convert your results fairly.
Important rule
What about the requirement for a Polish language grade?
Sometimes, the admission criteria for a particular degree programme require a Polish language grade. What should you do if your school abroad did not teach this subject? We have a simple solution: in your case, instead of Polish, we will take into account the grade in the official language of the country where your certificate was issued!
