In the 2025/2026 academic year, the University of Silesia is launching the second edition of the Talent Fund. This is a special support programme for students starting full-time 1st cycle or long-cycle studies.
We want to help you combine your passion for sport, social engagement and artistic talent with your studies in your chosen field.

Choose one:
Programme 1
For students with academic and sporting achievements
This pathway is aimed at individuals who have been finalists or winners of national-level academic competitions, winners of national and international competitions, as well as finalists of the Polish Championships (in disciplines covered by the Polish Academic Championships programme).

Benefits package for the first year of study:
- Individual organisation of studies (IOS),
- a guaranteed place in a dormitory and a 50% discount on accommodation fees,
- individual support from academic or career advisors,
- academic tutoring,
- a Rector’s Scholarship of PLN 1,500 per month (for those meeting the statutory criteria).
In accordance with the regulations, the Rector’s Scholarship is awarded to a student admitted to the first year of study in the year in which they took their secondary school -leaving examination, who is:
- a winner of an international competition
- a winner or finalist of a national-level olympiad,
- a medallist at the Polish Championships in a given sport.

IMPORTANT – HOW TO APPLY?
If you have been admitted to the first year of study and are eligible for the first programme, you do not need to apply to the Talent Fund. All you need to do is submit an application for the Rector’s Scholarship at the beginning of October.

Programme 2
Competition (social, artisticand sporting talents)
You haven’t taken part in any nation-wide competitions, but can boast exceptional achievements in social, artistic or sporting activities? If so, this pathway is for you!
Benefits package for the first year of study:
- a one-off voucher for the University of Silesia merch shop worth 500 PLN (tax-free amount),
- Individual organisation of studies (IOS),
- a guaranteed place in a dormitory and a 20% discount on accommodation fees,
- a meeting with career advisers,
- peer tutoring.
How to enter the competition?
The task involves preparing a video recording or presentation in which you tell us about your motivation for studying and share your passions and interests.
- Complete the application form and the declaration.
- Send the documents along with your competition entry via file transfer (e.g. WeTransfer) to: bka@us.edu.pl.
- The deadline is 1 September 2025.
In October, the competition committee, consisting of representatives from the academic community and the socio-economic sector, will select the best entries and announce the winners.
